How Do We Convince Non-Technical Owners to Adopt BIM?
The question above was posted to the LinkedIn BIM Experts Group. I chipped in my 2cents with a very short reply to the topic. "I don't feel that you need to convince an Owner of the benefits of BIM. If this is an Owner that you want to establish a long-term relationship with, the project should speak for itself. They should see the results at many different levels depending on how much effort you put into your BIM. To me, the ability to deliver a better coordinated project all the way down the line differentiates us from the competition. Happy client = more business." There are many replies to this topic and some folks go into greater depth than I do in my reply. What many people fail to realize is that BIM, is not a set-in-stone rule or tool, it's a concept or philosophy. What it boils down to is how do we collaborate/communicate.
