Allan Witt Aquatic Complex is the focal point of active, aquatic recreational use within an existing neighborhood park. SKW performed a feasibility study of the existing complex, and recommended complete demolition of the existing swim center and the development of new facilities. The new complex includes four (4) pools and support facilities.
The Fairfield area is subject to windy conditions, thus a polycarbonate panel natatorium with an operable roof was developed to respond to the weather conditions. Pools include a competition pool, a zero-entry pool and lazy river with play structures, two 40-foot slides with receiving pool and wet play area. A three to six foot depth competition pool was designed to accommodate local swimming teams and competitive swimming. The Complex also includes a barbecue/picnic area, men’s and women’s locker rooms, an equipment room, a meeting room and administrative/support areas.
