The facility includes a full service commercial kitchen with an adjacent dining area and lecture classroom space. The academy also offers lab space to teach food safety and preparation, dry goods storage, a walk-in cooler and freezer, office space and a locker room with laundry service. Students of the culinary program have the opportunity to gain their ServSafe certification, which is a universal standard within the food service industry for food preparation, safety, time and temperature requirements. Possession of the ServSafe certification assists students in obtaining jobs from outside employers and allows them to receive college credit in the next stage of their education.
