This new 9,300 SF building incorporates flexible learning spaces for classrooms, wet labs, and a technology and robotics lab connected to a makerspace. The makerspace provides students an area to design, prototype, experiment, and learn from physical projects. The building’s interior supports flexible learning by using movable furniture and LED monitors throughout the classrooms, allowing for multiple teaching walls and classroom configurations. Interiors are expanded by opening the glass doors connected to covered, outdoor learning spaces. Living walls create a vertical quad in addition to providing shading and promoting sustainable building features. The building supports SCUSD’s strategic and education plan by incorporating a STEM curriculum and 21st century learning environment.
